Full Service Booking - Personal Trips
It’s the water – and in Belize, it’s definitely the water and the world’s second largest barrier reef that makes this destination special. Lots of options here – it does depend on what sort of experience you’re looking for and the make up of your group or family.
To begin, there is what many believe to be the top saltwater adventure anywhere – the Belize Mothership Trip. Staffed by Captain Dean Myers and his able crew, you and your group of 2, 3, 4, or 6 live on the shallow waters inside the reef on your own personal floating lodge – i.e., a comfortable, air conditioned, live-aboard yacht.
Behind the mothership your flats skiffs are towed, from which you will pursue tarpon, bonefish, snook, barracuda, and can access the world’s finest permit flats.
There are a variety of coastal options in Belize. For a top-of-the-line couple’s island get-away, there is Cayo Espanto.
Ambergris Caye, as well as some of the other cayes, offer different forms of island family getaways.
The eastern edge of the Turneffe Islands is one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Both Turneffe Island Lodge and Turneffe Flats Lodge provide slightly different experiences.
Your mothership, the Rising Tide, comes with an experienced captain (who doubles as the head guide) and the steward/cook who basically spends the day doing the housekeeping and preparing meals to meet the fishing schedule.
Since there is no one else on board but the people you bring with you (and the crew), the nature of this trip is such that it is a great experience for small groups of friends and family that enjoy spending time together.
The “top of the line” mothership available in Belize definitely qualifies for the term “yacht.”
The same experienced crew that many Fly Fishers have enjoyed for years will be operating it (l to r: Captain Dean, chef Carol, and First Mate and guide, Noel).
To those familiar with the Belize mothership approach, there is no better way to cover the options than living on the protected waters inside the Belize barrier reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. What brings our regulars back each year, in spite of the sometimes fickle tropical weather, are these aspects:
Your price includes virtually everything except personal beverages, tips, and fishing equipment. A supply of purified water, soft drinks, and native Belikan Beer is on board. Prices listed below are for the standard seven night trip.
