The Best of the Italian Alps: Sesia and Mastallone Rivers

The Italian alps, the mountains, streams, rivers and valleys of northern Italy offer a unique opportunity for fly fishing enthusiasts or fishermen who want to enjoy a memorable trip. Fishing in Val Sesia and Val Mastallone takes place in one of the most beautiful and evocative valleys of the Italian alps; river Sesia and Mastallone Stream are famous for the enormous presence of brown trout, marble trout, rainbow trout. Val Sesia is one of the best marble trout waters in Italy and certainly one of the most productive in the whole of southern Europe.

The average size of marble trout is truly remarkable: it is not difficult to catch marble trout over 60/70 and sometime 80/90 cm.

Val Sesia if the unique river in Italy with a endemic Blue Thin Grayling. Fishing for a bluefin grayling is truly a mirage, but this can happen!

Val Sesia is famous all over the world for their waters flowing down from Monte Bianco and Monte Rosa and is famous for the sanctuary town of Varallo.

Val Sesia river is famous for the most exclusive Italian Fishing Reserve of Piode. Every year Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) comes to Italy to fish in this exclusive reserve. We have a collaboration agreement with the managing of the reserve and we can accompany very few customers every year.

The result of the day of fishing in terms of satisfaction, fishing experience and cultural growth depends on the Guide who accompanies you.
