River ALLEN - Deans Court
Gin-clear and with plenty of ranunculus to support good fly life this is an ideal place if you like sight fishing and fish that come from nowhere to grab a dry fly as it drifts along margins of bank and weed. Generally it is best fished by wading, though for some sections you will get out to fish from the bank.
This beat is ideal for one rod or two friends sharing.
River ALLEN - Wimborne St. Giles
The fishing is divided into four beats; the three Home beats plus the Village Water. The Home beats, Crichel, Bowerswaine and Brockington are a combination of bank fishing with some wading sections.
Each of the three Home beats is suitable for one Rod, or they are easily combined for a two friends or a small party
River FROME - Ilsington
With close to 5 miles to discover this is a true wild trout paradise. Trout over 3lbs are regularly caught and parties will often catch thirty fish or more fish between them. With the main river, carriers and the truly delightful North Stream the sheer scope and variety of the fishing is amazing.
From mid-summer salmon and sea trout are caught and Ilsington currently holds the British record for the largest grayling of 4lb 3oz.
River FROME - Wrackleford
In recent years the Estate has greatly improved the fishing, with easier access, banks that are groomed without being manicured and huts for the fishermen. Seven of the beats are on the main River Frome, but the eighth is on the tributary the Sydling Brook, ideal for anyone who likes stealth and accurate casting.
Each beat is suitable for one or two rods.
