Full Service Booking - Personal Trips
Every fly fisherman has heard of them before: the chalk streams of England.
There are dozens, which are located in different counties. The most famous chalk streams are certainly River Test, River Itchen and River Avon, on whose shores personalities such as Frederic Halford, Frank Sawyer and Edward Skues have written fly fishing history.
The specialty of the British Chalk Streams is the crystal-clear water, which often allows fishing on sight.
In addition, there is an extreme wealth of food that may be imitated by the fly fisherman with the dry fly and partly with the nymph. Last but not least, many rivers lie in small, cozy villages and flow through beautiful British gardens / parks that make a trip to these rivers a special experience.
Our trips are usually based in Stockbridge, a small village where the River Test runs through. Stockbridge is approx. 1-1,5hrs from London, so this can also be done for a long weekend.
We can tailor the trips to your needs - add a guide etc.
The River Test is one of the most classic chalk streams.
There are several beats, the mot famous possibly is the Oakley Beat where Frederic Halford was fishing and developing modern fly fishing. You can target browns, rainbows and grayling as well as salmon in certain beats. We can offer many different beats, please speak to us for advise.
FIshing is from spring until autumn, prime time is the Mayfly Hatch in May / June.
Various - depending on river, service and time.
